Fallout: Miami (Fallout 4 Mod)

Fallout: Miami is an upcoming DLC-sized mod for Fallout 4 with an original setting, complete with its own engrossing main quest, interesting side quests and characters, including new companions. The central theme of our story is the struggle between order and freedom. The setting for this new adventure is the post-post-apocalyptic Vacation Wasteland of Miami Beach. Once a popular tourist destination, attracting rich and glamorous visitors both foreign and domestic, it now plays host to an eclectic assortment of factions and societies, each with its own culture and approach to the challenges of this new post-nuclear world. The once-great slaver kingdom of Sunshine Cove has recently come under threat by a horde of automobile-worshipping nomads calling themselves the Nuclear Patriots. While Miami’s various factions vie for control over the Vacation Wasteland, a long-forgotten remnant of the old-world slumbers beneath the waves, waiting for an opportunity to reclaim America once again.

I joined the Fallout Miami team in August 2024, contributing to this ambitious DLC-sized fan project that has been in development since 2018. My role so far has involved modeling various small props and sculpting and texturing clothing for some characters. Fallout: Miami aims to bring a new level of depth and storytelling to the Fallout 4 universe, and I’m excited to be part of the dedicated Fallout: Miami Development Team.

Clothing
For Fallout: Miami, I had the opportunity to work on the clothing for Jimmy Hart, a key character whom the Sole Survivor encounters upon arriving in Miami after the events of Fallout 4.

I was provided with a base model, which I then enhanced in ZBrush by sculpting details like stitches and creases. The focus was on making the clothing fit the rest of the game as well as look more realistic.

The texturing was completed in Adobe Substance Painter and was based on a concept art by Cameron August. My goal for the surfacing was to convey the character's journey through the wasteland by show a history of wear in the clothing. I focused on adding scratches and imperfections to ensure the audience could see that this character had been through a lot.

I also created a female version, a folded-down version of the outfit, and an alternate version for regular Nuclear Patriots. I'm grateful to have been part of the incredible Fallout: Miami team!
Props
So far, I have been responsible for modeling three different types of glasses. These glasses are to be featured across various locations in Miami, such as bars and lounges, adding to the atmosphere of the game environment. I'm excited to continue contributing to the project and look forward to creating more props.
